Notice from the Commissioner of the Revenue
LAND USE PROGRAM FILING PERIOD FOR 2021
September 1st - October 25th, 2020

Fauquier County Ordinance Section 8-10 (b) has been amended to allow for revalidation every 3 years. There is no longer a requirement to revalidate every year.
** THEREFORE, TAXPAYERS DO NOT NEED TO SUBMIT A REVALIDATION FORM THIS YEAR. **
The next revalidation will be in the Fall of 2021 for tax years 2022, 2023 and 2024. Proof of salesBắn cá phá hũ receipts for each year are still required (receipts will be needed for 2020-2021). New applicants are required, under Fauquier County Ordinance Section 8-10, to apply for acceptance or continuation of the Land Use program.

GEARING UP FOR REASSESSMENT 2022
** A FEW REASSESSMENT FACTS **
Fauquier County reassessments are done every four years. The last assessment was done in 2018. The process carries though 2021 with new assessed values taking effect in 2022. Planning and preparation is currently underway.

The Commissioner of the Revenue strives to provide efficient and effective taxpayer services through diligent and careful maintenance of taxpayer records in Real Estate, which includes Land Use and Relief for the Elderly & Disabled programs, Personal Property, Business Taxation and State Income taxes. The department serves the public by providing assistance in a competent manner when dealing with their tax matters. The citizens of Fauquier County are provided with timely processing of tax returns and other records in order to deliver the annual assessments to the Treasurer as prescribed by law. All duties are performed as prescribed by the laws of the Commonwealth relating to assessment of property and taxes; and uphold the constitution of Virginia as well as serve as a “watchdog” and assessor for the property tax revenue of Fauquier County.
