In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, Fauquier County Community Development continues to make the safety of our residents, customers, vendors, employees, and community its top priority. Although internal offices will remain closed to the public, we now offer drop-off and pick-up services in our main lobby.
Starting June 24, 2020 the 3rd floor lobby located in the courthouse at 29 Ashby St will be open to the public to drop off Building, Zoning, and other Land Development applications. Instructional signage, drop boxes, and a locked payment box are in place to help assist customers.
In addition to lobby services, we continue to encourage our customers to take advantage of online permitting services and to utilize email and fax as much as possible. Additionally:
- Permits submission for trades, decks, pools and remodeling basements can be submitted via fax to 540-422-8231 or by email to energov.mail@fauquiercounty.gov (using a subject line of “Walk-Thru Submission” and attaching a .pdf of the building plans).
- Submit Subdivision Potential applications, Minor Home Occupation permits and Administrative permits by fax, email or USPS mail.
- Mail other land development applications to 29 Ashby Street, 3rd floor, Warrenton, VA 20186.
- Pre-application and Technical Review Committee (TRC) meetings will be conducted electronically.
- In person meetings with individual staff will be handled via telephone.
We strongly encourage our customers to take advantage of our online payment option found here. Customers with questions are encouraged to email individual staff or energov.mail@fauquiercounty.gov whenever possible.
